História

Bao era um órfão abandonado deixado por seus pais sob os cuidados de um templo chinês nas montanhas. O lider do templo, um velho monge, pede para Chin Gentsai o adotar. Este concorda quando Bao exibe o poder psíquico. Chin decide então que era necessário que Bao treinasse com ele para controlar esse poder, apresentando o menino a Sie Kensou, seu outro estudante adotivo, e a Athena Asamiya. Enquanto Bao treina com eles, Kensou começa a perder gradualmente seus poderes até que eles desaparecessem. Descobre-se então que ambos compartilham a mesma fonte de energia: O Espírito do Dragão (龍の気). Ron e Misty parecem se interessar por isso, revelando uma provável importância do Espírito do Dragão no futuro. Bao luta principalmente usando o seu poder psíquico, podendo envolver o seu próprio corpo com energia psíquica e criar barreiras psíquicas, mas ele também utiliza do Kung Fu, assim como os seus companheiros de time, e alguns de seus movimentos podem ser baseados no Tai Chi Chuan. Infelizmente, Bao decidiu não participar de torneios por algum tempo, pois ele deseja levar uma vida normal.

Personalidade

Bao tenta viver sua vida como uma criança normal da sua idade, gosta de jogar videogames e de pescar. Ele também considera Athena e Kensou como seus irmãos mais velhos, já que o trio parece ser muito próximo. Mas ao contrário de Kensou, Bao aprende a não confiar sempre em seus poderes psíquicos.
